WUST has three campuses distributed throughout Wuhan, including two in the vicinity of the Yangtze River and a lake, which has earned the University as an ecological garden. WUST’s campuses cover an area of about 1.71 million square meters (422 acres), including a floor space of over 1.18 million square meters (292 acres) for academic and administrative use. Three campuses includes Qingshan Campus, Huangjiahu Campus as well as Hongshan Campus.

Wuhan Metro Line 1 (Jinghe – Hankou North)
Wuhan metro line 1 covers a distance of about 38 kilometers), Which totally passes 32 stations and takes around 75 minutes to finish a single trip. It connects Jinghe and Hankou North, passing Dongxihu, Qiaokou, Jianghan, Jiang’an and Huangpi Districts. The ticket fare ranges from CNY 2 to CNY 6.
Wuhan Metro Line 2 (Tianhe International Airport – Optics Valley Square)
This metro line runs from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport T3 and Optics Valley Square with 28 stations, connecting Jiefang Avenue, Zhongnan, Jiedaokou and Luxiang four shopping districts, and passes Hankou Railway Station, Wuhan General Coach Station, Wangjiadun Central Business District, Zhongshan Park and Donghu High Technology Development Zone.
In addition, the section between Tianhe Airport and Changqingcheng Station, also known as the Airport Line, operates from 06:00 to 22:30 in weekdays and 06:30 to 22:30 in weekends. It covers around 12 miles (20 kilometers) and passes 7 stations. The trip between Jinyintan and the airport only takes 27 minutes.
Wuhan Metro Line 3 (Hongtu Avenue - Zhuanyang Avenue)
The operating part between Hongtu Avenue and Zhuanyang Avenue part covers a distance of about 28 kilometers and includes 24 stations. The whole journey takes around 55 minutes. The ticket price ranges from CNY 2 to CNY 5 according to the metered fare.
Wuhan Metro Line 4 (Huangjinkou – Wuhan Railway Station)
Wuhan metro line 4 runs through the Hanyang, Wuchang, Hongshan and Qingshan Districts. The operating route, linking Huangjingkou in the west and Wuhan Railway Station in the east, covers 28 stations, with Wuchang and Hanyang Railway Stations included.
Wuhan Metro Line 5 (Wuhan Railway Station – Huangjiahu)
Wuhan metro line 5 is expected to open at the end of 2021 between Wuhan Railway Station and South 3rd Ring Road in the north-south direction. Extending a distance of about 32 kilometers (20 miles) with 25 stations, the metro line will pass Simenkou Commercial Area, Wuchang Binjiang Area, Xudong Commercial Area, Qingshan Binjiang Business District and Wugangchang Area. Wuhan subway line 5 will be connect with line 2, line 4, line 7, line 8 and line 11 for passengers to transfer.
Wuhan Railway Station - Qingwang Road - Wugang - Dushi Gongyeyuan - Jianshe 11th Road - Honggangcheng - Heping Park - Jianshe 2nd Road - Kepu Park - Yujiatou - Yangyuan - Xujiapeng - Sanjiao Road - Xinsheng Road - Jiyuqiao - Tanhualin - Simenkou - Pengliuyang Road - Fuxing Road - Wujindi Road - Jiangmin Road - Jiangguo Road - Qingling - Baisha 5th Road - South 3rd Ring Road-Huangjiahu.
Wuhan Metro Line 6 (Jinyinhu Park - Dongfeng Motor Company)
It runs between Dongfeng Motor Company and Jinyinhu Park, with 27 stations including Zhongjiacun, Heptachord Terrace and Jianghan Road. Covering 36 kilometers, an entire single journey takes around 70 minutes.
Wuhan metro line 6, mainly passing the Hanyang and Hankou Areas, makes it possible to watch sport events at the Sports Center, enjoy the exhibitions at the International Expo Center, and go shopping and dining on Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street.
Wuhan Metro Line 7 (Yezhi Lake – Garden Expo Park North )
Wuhan metro line 7 connects Yezhi Lake and Garden Expo Park North, covering about 31 kilometers (19 miles) and passing 19 stations. The subway line runs through Hongshan, Wuchang, Jiang’an, Jianghan, Qiaokou and Dongxihu Districts and passes Wuchang Railway Station, Garden Expo Park and Wuhan Business District. Wuhan subway line 7 intersects with line 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 & 8.
Wuhan Metro Line 8 (Liyuan – Jintan Road)
Wuhan metro line 8 covers Yongqing Business District, Xudong Commercial Area, Jiedaokou Commercial Area, Donghu Scenic Area and Nanhu Area. The phase one of line 8 was put into use on December 27, 2017, connecting Liyuan and Jintan Road. Covering a distance of around 16.5 kilometers, Wuhan subway line 8 contains 12 stations via Yuejiazui, Wangjiadun and Huangpu Road. An entire single trip takes around 35 minutes with the frequency of 4.5 minutes. The ticket fare ranges from CNY 2 to CNY 4 according to the metered fare. The phase two of this metro line (Liyuan - Yezhihu) will operate in the near future.
Wuhan Metro Line 11 (Guanggu Railway Station – Zuoling)
Wuhan metro line 11, also known as Zuoling Line, has opened its phase one of the east section. With a length of 20 kilometers the metro line operates between Guanggu Railway Station and Zuoling with 13 stations, passing Optics Valley Administrative Centre and Wuhan Future City. The phase two will open soon afterwards and it will pass Xiongchu Street, Guanggu Pedestrian and Wuchang Railway Station. The middle section between Jiang’an Road and Guanggu Railway Station, and west section between Zhangwan Street and New Hanyang Railway Station of Wuhan subway line 11 are expected to serve by 2020. In the future, transfers with line 9 and line 19 can also be achieved.
Wuhan Metro Line 21 (Houhu Avenue - Jintai)
Wuhan metro Yangluo Line, also called the Metro Line 21, covers around 35 kilometers (22 miles) and connects Houhu Avenue to Jintai via 16 stations. As the first line in Yangtze River New City, Wuhan subway Yangluo Line passes through Jiang’an, Huangpi and Xinzhou Districts, playing an important role in the development of Wuhan east new area. The complete one-way trip is around 50 minutes at intervals of 6 minutes.
